Bells Augmentation Project
The work took around 10 days to get to the stage where we could say that most of the work was done, and we could think about having a "tryout". Here are some pictures of the new treble & second in place.

At long last all (well almost) was complete and we were ready for a tryout. Everyone assembled on the evening of Friday, Sept 7th and tentatively pulled off in rounds for the first time. The results were better than we dared have hoped for - an excellent ring of eight has been transformed into a glorious ring of ten. The rounds were followed by a half course of Yorkshire Royal, which only served to consolidate our first impressions. Even though some of the soundproofing had still to be fitted in the ringing chamber ceiling, making the bells a bit loud in the ringing chamber, we were delighted with the results. These last few pictures were taken during the "tryout" ring. |
