Rothwell Holy Trinity now has a fine ring of ten bells. The tenor weighs 21-0-3, in the key of E flat. They were fitted with a new metal frame in 1907 by Taylors of Loughborough, at the same time as two new trebles were added. Bagley’s original 2nd and 3rd were recast, and the entire ring re-tuned. A new ringing chamber was created higher in the tower. Our recent augmentation project has given us an excellent ring of ten, the bells being cast by Messrs Taylors of Loughborough, and the installation work overseen by Messrs Hayward Mills. |

Video !! - we now have a downloadable clip of the new bells actually ringing. The clip shows the new Treble & Second, 3rd, 4th, and the Tenor. The bells are ringing a plain course of Grandsire Caters, rung immediately after the Service of Dedication. A word of warning - this clip is approx 5.6mb long - so be patient if you have a slow connection ! |

We have a very active band of ringers and learners, who always ensure the bells are rung each Sunday morning for the 1030 service. We almost always ring 8, often 10, and sometimes even reaching the dizzy heights of Yorkshire or Cambridge - otherwise Plain Bob or Grandsire. Only occasionally are we reduced to 6, usually in the holiday season. Since our augmentation, we intend to try to ring all ten for every service, if at all possible.
Our Practice night is Wednesday. We start with a learners' practice at 7pm, and then gradually progress through bell handling, rounds and call changes to more advanced ringing from around 8pm onwards. We finish at 9.15pm. If you are a ringer or a learner, please come and join us - if you are just an interested visitor, we will still be delighted to see you. We need to keep all doors locked for security reasons, but if you wait outside the small South Door, someone usually comes down every 15 minutes to open the door.
